Virtual Beers with Jonathan Pearce, Justin Schieber - Evidential Problem of Evil!

I just finished up another awesome Virtual Beers session with Jonathan Pearce and Justin Schieber where we discuss the Evidential Problem of Evil and the problems with common theistic responses.

I think that we packed in a lot of philosophical meat in this session and it was honestly a blast!

Extra geek cred if anyone can identify what the wall scroll to the left of me is (ie. not the Dragon Ball Z one). I'd be pleasantly surprised to see if anyone can!

EDIT: The answer is Terry Bogard from Fatal Fury/King of Fighters.  Here's the actual source artwork, from Real Bout Fatal Fury 2

  1. ...Apropos the wall scroll: is it Ken from Street Fighter?

(If I'm wrong, it *is* partially obscured and a bit small... My next two guesses would be something like Final Fantasy or just possibly Devil May Cry - what with the red - but as far as I can make it out, I think Ken is probably the best bet?)

    1. Your first guess is very close. FWIW, there is a Final Fantasy wall scroll on another wall in the basement. :P

  2. ... x Tekken??
I just casually game really, so if it boils down to a specific SF incarnation, I'm all out of ideas I'm afraid :/

(Is there a consolation cuddly chocobo?)

    1. I'll post up tomorrow if no one gets it. It's not Street Fighter or Tekken, not that popular of a fighting game series in comparison.

  3. I'm guessing that rules out Soul Calibur or Mortal Kombat or suchlikes...

So, last guess for the morning (it may or may not be 3:30am across the pond):- someone from Virtua Fighter...?

(Otherwise I'll just have to tune in tomorrow to find out!)

    1. So sorry for the late response, but it's Terry Bogard from Fatal Fury/King of Fighters. The actual artwork is now put up in the post above.

  4. Hello John, as I wrote the last time, I had been looking forward to watching your beer conversation and wasn't disappointed by the result :-)

I am currently writing a response from a agnostic Christian standpoint for my blog, but since you have touched on many points, this isn't such an easy and quick task.

I'll keep you in touch and would feel greatly honored to learn your thoughts on all I am going to say.

Lovely greetings from continental Europe, Marc.

    1. If you post up here when you're done I can try to take a look at it. I'm a little busy lately so I'm not sure if I can give it a full reply, but I'll give it a shot.

If you deem it worthy of your time and attention, I'd be extremely glad to interact with you.

Feel free to directly comment on my blog or writing a response here, this may also be in one or two weeks, that's no problem, as a Christian I believe I dispose of the whole eternity :=)

  6. LS

I have critiqued it as per the email (though not extensively) and it is scheduled to go up soon.

  7. Hey, I have been looking for that Wall Scroll! I lost mine two years ago in a move. I am not after yours, but do you know who made it, where you got it or anyone that still sells it? I am devastated at losing mine and I need to find a replacement, though I am a cheap person. I bought mine in an indie game store in the Mall of Louisiana in Baton rouge, probably 15 years ago.
